Since 1989, Pam Cayton and staff at Lamas Vision for Kids
Tara Redwood School, California,
have created, implemented and researched
strategies for awakening compassion,
wisdom and social responsibility in the
minds and hearts of children.

The Seven Steps to Knowledge, Strength and
Compassion is a unique, secular educational
methodology developed at Tara Redwood School
in Santa Cruz, California. It blends the best of
Eastern and Western approaches for
educating the hearts and minds of children.
The Seven Steps program was inspired
by the late Tibetan master Lama Thubten Yeshe
and his vision for “a new kind of
universal education” – now known as
Essential Education. It has been developed
over a period of 18 years and is suitable for
children of any faith or culture.
